Giraffes
Giraffes need our help conserving their land and protecting them from poaching.
Giraffes are in trouble. According to our partners at the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF), the population of wild giraffes in Africa is now estimated at approximately 117,000, a drop of approximately 30% in the last three and a half decades.
Together, we can help to bring giraffe populations back. There has never been a better time to focus on giraffe conservation.
Recently, GCF discovered a new population of Kordofan Giraffe in Chad. They were previously unknown and Kordofan giraffe are critically endangered - exciting news from our partners that shows how powerful their innovative work is impacting giraffes every day.

Our Partner
Giraffe Conservation Foundation
We have partnered with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF) to lead the work for our Giraffe Project. The Giraffe Conservation Foundation is the only NGO in the world concentrating solely on the conservation and management of giraffes in the wild throughout Africa. GCF's work in 17 African countries includes program implementation, hands-on conservation actions, conservation monitoring, and providing technical and technological support. Their extraordinary efforts continue to positively impact over 100 million acres of giraffe habitat and concern all four species of giraffes. GCF has developed a Giraffe Action Fund dedicated to increasing giraffe numbers and their distribution, and protecting important giraffe habitats through hands-on conservation actions that include anti-poaching initiatives, translocations, community outreach, conservation awareness, and education.
